Adam Sandler Spotlight

Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler, born in the 9th of September of 1966, in Brooklyn New York, is an actor, comedian, film producer, screenwriter, and musician. He is considered one of the best comedy actors ever, being a star in many Hollywood featured movies. Sandler is most known for the movies Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, both produced in the decade of 1990.

Billy Madison, a movie written Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy, made over $26.4 million worldwide. It's plot is about a immature and lazy man, Happy Gilmore, which to inherit his father's company, he needs to repeat grades 1-12. The 27 year old was the successor of his father "Fortune 500" hotel company, until the day he ruined a dinner meeting between him and his associates because of his unpleasant behavior. His father, Brian (Darren McGavin), loses control and tells Billy he bribed his school's teachers to give him passing grades. Therefore, to regain Brian's confidence, he chooses to repeat the grades 1-12.

Although the movie received positive comments, it received at first mostly negative reviews, including the comment from Peter Rainer of the Los Angeles Times; "Sandler has a bad habit of thinking he is funnier than we are". Others from the program At the Movies, such as Roger Ebert gave thumbs down, talking about Sandler, "...Not an attractive screen presence, he might have a career as a villain or a fall guy or the butt of a joke, but as the protagonist his problem is he creates the fingernails on the blackboard."

Inspired by both of his most succeeded movies, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, our comey star founded the Happy Madison Productions which produced numerous films. In 2007, it developed a television sitcom series Rules of Engagement, starring actors like Rob Schneider, Kevin Nealon, Kevin James, and David Spade, as well as directors Dennis Dugan and Frank Coraci.

Concluding, this was Adam Sandler's spotlight review in the "Netflix Comides", revealing one of his greatest movies, Billy Madison, and his Happy Madison Productions. I hope your knowledge was increased, and that now you know more of the star's life.
