Grown Ups Review

 Grown Ups

Thirty years after their basketball championship victory, the death of their coach leads to a reunion of some old teammates (Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade), who gather at the site of their first celebration. Picking up where they left off, the buddies -- with wives and children in tow -- discover why age does not, necessarily, equal maturity.

I could say this is just another Adam Sandler kinda movie, and it is, but that's not the point. If you enjoy this movie or not, it is really up to you, because you either like it for its dumb comedy, or you dislike it for its lack of plot. I certainly liked it, and laughed numerous times, feeling especially good after the end of the movie.

I like a good plot, good directing, good acting and well-thought-of puns as much as the next guy; I'm not stupid. But, even though there are times you feel like watching an intricate drama, there are times you want to watch a no-brainer.

Grown Ups is definitely a no-brainer, which will make you feel good from time to time. That's the reason Adam Sandler keeps making these movies, and that's why people keep watching.

Don't get me wrong, I like this movie, though it is not one I would recommend to someone who wants to watch a good comedy that would keep you hooked all along. It still is a laugher, so, if you're looking to kill some time, just find it in Netflix, and enjoy your 90 minutes.

    See you next time

  1. You'd have to be clinically brain dead to find any of the...exact same...movies Adam Sandler and his cronies put out every year funny.
